Derek and Tony began working together in 2008 at the newly formed Retail Realty Group, LLC. Derek serving as Director of Property Management and Tony overseeing the day to day leasing operations of a portfolio in excess of 1.5 million sq. ft. It was during this time that the two learned to work well together and develop their strong friendship.
Since 2008, Tony and Derek have worked together on Leasing, Sales, Management and Development projects. With over 21 years between the two of them representing both Landlords and Tenants in negotiating Lease and Sale Agreements they know what it takes to make the deal work for both sides.
Having successfully closed in excess of $200 Million Dollars in properties ranging from Investment, Retail, Industrial, Development & Recreational Land they have the experience to represent both buyers and sellers.

Meet Our Team
Anthony (Tony) J. Gagliano, CCIM
Over the past 11 years, Tony has worked extensively with both landlords and tenants, with hundreds of transactions in leasing and sales involving retail, investment, industrial and land. His landlord duties included overseeing the investment portfolio of approximately 1.5 million square feet of property at its peak in 2012.
In sales, Tony has been responsible for several sales and purchases in both multi-tenant retail buildings, light industrial warehouses, development acreage, recreational properties and single tenant investment properties. His experience includes working with family trusts, individual owners, REITS and institutional buyers and sellers.
Tony received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1992. While at MIZZOU he also had the opportunity to study a year in Japan. This year abroad led to a year-long trek around the world, where he experienced living with the locals and learning their cultures and life experiences and laying the groundwork for numerous international real estate transactions.
Licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, Tony is a recent C.I.P.S Designee and is currently working on his CCIM designation. Since obtaining his Missouri Real Estate Sales Person’s license in 2006, Tony has been a member of both the Saint Louis and Saint Charles County Association of Realtors. He served on the Commercial Division Board from 2011-2015. Tony was the Commercial Board President in 2013.

Shane Edgar joins Core Real Estate Group as a committed and passionate real estate professional. He brings with him 17 years commercial real estate experience with a diverse background as he’s represented Buyer’s, Seller’s, Landlord’s & Tenant’s in every area of the industry.
He was previously with one of the largest Brokerage, Development & Construction Companies in St Charles County. While with this company Shane developed a strong background in retail development. His proven track record is supported by successfully assisting a National Client with 22 Build-to-Suits and the sale of $30 plus million dollars in single tenant NNN investment properties over a 3 year period.
Shane’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; assisting clients with selection, analysis and acquisition of sites for expansion or restructuring, sale contract & lease negotiations for office, retail, land, industrial & investment properties.
Clients enjoy working with Shane because of his ability to listen to their needs, his ability to pay attention to detail and his high level of customer service. Shane is recognized as a key component and leader that will assist Core Real Estate Group with our business development and growth strategies as we continue to expand.
Derek Kessler, CCIM

Derek graduated from Lindenwood University in 1994 with a BA in History. After some time exploring a potential music career, Derek obtained his Missouri Salesperson license in 1996 and began his career in commercial real estate in his first position with Paragon Group. Since then, Derek has held positions with Westin Group, Retail Realty Group, Thomas Realty Group and most recently, United Country-Commercial. Derek obtained his Missouri Real Estate Brokers license in 2008 and his Kansas Brokers License in 2015. Since 1996, Derek has managed, leased, sold and developed commercial and retail properties in both the Missouri, Kansas and Illinois markets. Derek’s management clients have included both individual and investment groups with portfolios ranging between 600,000 - 1,500,000 square feet. He has worked closely with real state departments of national companies such as Walmart, Lowes, Starbucks, Sports Authority, GameStop and McDonalds, to name a few.
In addition to his work experience, Derek has enhanced his knowledge via ongoing education with IREM classes in finance, budgeting, maintenance, accounting, and leasing. As a member of ICSC, Derek has helped prepare for and attended ICSC conventions to further the leasing efforts of the properties under his management. Currently Derek is working towards completing his CCIM designation.
Derek’s passions include his family, actively serving on his church council (two times past church council president), singing in choir and being a band parent for his daughter’s high school marching band. His hobbies include watching Cardinal baseball and hunting. Derek and his family reside in St. Charles, Missouri.
